“Those who ignores the lessons of the pasta are doomed to repeat it.” This Saturday, satirical musical duo Bowser and Blue celebrate three-and-a-half decades of laughing at life in la belle province. Featuring special guest David Pryde, their Anniversary Special Concert this Saturday, September 21 at Théâtre Symposia will revisit highlights from their long career. They’ll also present a host of new songs, many of whose focus is Quebec’s new climate. Will there be a song about the charter this Saturday? What, ya think?
The authors of such classics as Faute du Fédéral, The Night They Invented Poutine and the Colorectal Surgeon Song – not to mention the hugely popular Schwartz’s, the Musical – George Bowser and Ricky Blue have been serving up their unique brand of music, absurdity and spoof to anglo audiences across Canada since 1978. And while they’ve been busy on the road in recent years, Quebec and its issues remain close to their hearts — and an endless source of one-liners. As Bowser to the Gazette earlier this year: “If Rick and I can stay together for 30-plus years and not separate, well then so can Quebec.”
Tickets range from $29 to $49. Call 514 904 7469. For more information check out the Symposia’s Facebook page: facebook.com/theatresymposia. To hear B&B sing about Justin Trudeau in a radio interview, click here, or visit them online at bowserandblue.com.
