what are truly experimental novels? why isn't this one?

where the bored and jaded young plan to party with nonchalance and a total lack of personal investment

where bored ad jaded youth plan to party; they are nonchalant and can't make personal investment.

party with nonchalance sounds like a personification of nonchalance

what is the "unusual format"?

So let me get this straight: we forgive this so-called novelist all his eccentricities and quirks and lack of real solid writing ability because he's an "uncompromising poet". What does that mean exactly? After you've spent 400 words tearing down what must have been a pretty awful novel, you suddenly decide that this novel is "a welcome addition to the Canadian literary scene". Do you really think so? I don't really think so. This is really a bunch of BS. And the crap about the experimentality of this novel is a real insult to truly experimental novels. Some honesty might be welcomed here.
